in the lobby. a picture from the scene, police say they are questioning three suspects in the case. the building is on lockdown and no one is being allowed in or out. we will have more on the story as it develops and you can get update on twitter@abcnewsbayarea . >> the body of a brain dead 13 -year-old oakland girl has left children's hospital oakland and is in the custody of her family. this video shows the ambulance taking her from the hop a children's hospital oakland. show was first released to the coroner and then the family. the family believes jahi mcmath can recover and is taking her to a care facility that will keep her on a ventilator. a statement from children's hospital oakland says this the coroner has released her body to the custody of her mother as per

court order for destination "unknown." our hearts go to the family as they grieve for this sad situation and we wish them closure and peace. our reporter has more at 5:30. >> a facility jahi mcmath could be moving to is the new aganst community center in new york on long island a brain injury treatment organization. it was stabbed after the case of terry schiavo the woman at the center of a nation help wide legal debate over life support. the founder spoke yesterday to cnn with this response when asked if jahi mcmath would be moved to her facility. >> we are a potential facility that jahi mcmath and her family could be coming to but we will know more details in a couple of hours and will be happy to let you know as we know. >> she went on to say she deserves a second fight to recover from the blind injury.

move. the east coast will feel the wrath of the wallop this afternoon. at 6:08 and the cold freeze is causing major problems this morning with more than 2,400 nights canceled and another 1,300 on delay this morning. most of those are out of chicago o'hare and john f. kennedy airport. passengers at sfo scrambled to get reeboked after united airlines grounded flights in chicago and cleveland yesterday. >> when we get to cleveland that is it and then we hear from the same people, by the we, the replacement flight isn't until wednesday. >> there are a lot of people that were not doing everything just re-directing everyone to customer service. >> 80 flights were canceled at sfo. oakland and san jose international airport did not report cancellations.

we will go to the north and show you what normally the polar vortex over the north pole but we are looking at lack of sea ice that helps warmer systems come up there and dislodge polar vortex and that is what is sitting to the north of the great lakes and brought all of the cold air with it and with the counter-clockwise flow and the high over us with the clock wise flow is pulling in air from siberia and the north pole and depositing it as far south as st. louis where it feels 32 below and 55 in new york, but all moving that way, with minus 40 in green bay and minus 4 7 in cargo and we feel eighth degrees warmer here in the 40's and 50's

feeding tube neitherred but the family is not saying where this is happening. this is video of the ambulance carrying her away the family has been arguing with children's hospital oakland since mid-december about what should happen. doctors declared jahi mcmath and said she should be taken off the ventilator but her family says her heart is beating so they believe she is alive. the coroner issue add death certificate. >> this family knows the odds are stacked against us. this family knows the likelihood of a recovery short of a markell or -- of a miracle is not probable but we want a chance. >> hospital release add statement saying "our hearts go out to the family as they grieve for this sad situation. we wish them closure and peace."

the family attorney isn't saying the name or location of the care facility that agreed to take jahi mcmath because of privacy concerns. he has been getting 200 to 400 e-mail as day and many of them are threatening him, jahi mcmath, and her relatives. >> the family has launched a crowd funding page to cover the cost of moving jahi mcmath to a new facility and have raised $49,000. >> hooking back this began december 9 after surgery at children's hospital oakland when she went into cardiac arrest. the next day a scan revealed two-thirds of her brain was swollen. doctors declared her brain dead december 1 and the family began a legal fight to keep her on a ventilator which would expire tomorrow. >> in the east bay, oakland police are looking for the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident in a home.

witnesses say the car slammed into the side of a house and hit a gas line at 12:30. residents were evacuated as a precaution. pg&e were cad the line. >> a team from marin county is on the way to asilt cal fire with a brushfire in acres. it is now 40 percent contained. officials say it is unusual to be battling a wildfire this time of year. it is cold. it is rare to be in january with as little rain as we have had and battling a fire like this. i understand we have never had this low record of rain in northern california area ever recorded. they expect to be in humboldt county for two weeks.

tracy and here is the drive time traffic, 45 minutes to head from tracy to dublin and highway 4 is busy at 22 minutes from antioch to concord and loading up at 19 minutes from san rafael to san francisco. three people are recovering from injuries after the car plunged off a road in the berkeley hills along grizzly peak yesterday evening and the witness said the driver appeared to lose control and the car veered off the road and went 200' over the emembankment into thick bushes. rescuers worked to reach the victims and a tow truck crew will return this morning to remove the wrecked car. >> ahead, the new controversy facing madonna and her 13-year-old son. crop circle hoax, a bay area company is stepping forward admitting they are responsible for the design that had a california community buzzing. >> first, though, the boys are back in town. we are look with the overnight return to the bay area following the 49ers huge win in green
